Elizabeth J. Varbel (Ejay) graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a BA in Criminology. She attended Arizona State
University College of Law and took summer law classes in London with Notre Dame Law School. Following early graduation from law school,
she moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and was hired as the first house counsel for Hawaii Medical Services Association (HMSA), the largest
insurer in the state of Hawaii. Later Elizabeth established her own solo law practice on the Big Island in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Her
love was family law, but she enjoyed litigation and was responsible for deed preparation for the largest title company on the island.
After a decade in Hawaii, Elizabeth returned to the US mainland, operated a family business with her husband for many years and home-schooled
their son and daughter, long before it became a trend. Once her children had finished college in Oklahoma and had successful careers,
and after caring for grandchildren for a significant period, Elizabeth decided to reenter the workforce. Elizabeth joined the firm
as a valued legal assistant in 2012. Elizabeth enjoys working with her co-workers and our wonderful clients and expects that this will
be her last traditional job!
